She is very careful and meticulous in how she grooms. She shaved away all the knots that had formed and clearly put my cat at ease as she was so well behaved. Emma is very personable and can’t recommend her enough.
kim wilson17 July 2026I took my baby boy to see Emma today for his first groom and to remove some matted clumps. Emma was so welcoming and kind and Bear had such a lovely time! I was sent photos and advised on how to care for his fur between visits. 100% recommend and will be taking him back :)

Serena17 July 2026I originally booked an earlier date for my cats first grooming however due to the heatwave she was quite unsettled and we had to reschedule for a week or so afterwards. Throughout this Emma was very efficient in replying to messages and concerns as well finding a day that worked for the both of us. My cat was very content this time and looks very well groomed!!! Thank you soo much Emma and I recommend any cat owners in Southampton who are in search of a groomer to book with her!! ☺️💗 (Before and after photos attached, hope this helps!)
Ruella Garland2 July 2026I took my cat Betsy (who is part Ragdoll and doesn’t usually like to be brushed) to Emma and she did a fantastic job. All her mats and extra fur were removed and she even gave her a dry shampoo so she came back smelling lovely. I was a bit apprehensive as I’d taken Betsy to a different groomer previously and she was very distressed during the appointment and the groomer found it very difficult. However, Emma made Betsy feel very relaxed and said she didn’t find her difficult at all. Betsy seemed her usual self when she came back, which was a big difference compared to my previous experience. Emma also kept me updated during the appointment and asked further questions about what I wanted done. She also sent some photos (attached) and gave me a lot of reassurance. Would definitely recommend!
Anna-Marie Loader18 June 2026I recently took my Ragdoll Buffy to see Emma. What a marvellous set up in her van. Buffy was happy and not stressed which is what you’re looking for in a cat groomer. Emma was a joy to communicate with. It’s very difficult to find a cat groomer let alone a very good one! Will definitely be back 😊
Aneta Wolczynska11 June 2026I honestly couldn’t recommend this cat groomer enough! ❤️ I brought my Maine Coon here for her very first grooming appointment ever, and she is extremely nervous and easily scared, so I was really worried about how she would handle it. From the moment we arrived, she was treated with so much patience, kindness and professionalism. During the appointment, the groomer was amazing and even sent me photos to show that my cat was doing well and feeling comfortable. This was such a lovely touch and really helped to reassure me, as I was nervous too and wanted to know she was okay. All the mats and tangles from her undercoat were removed beautifully, and she came out looking amazing — but most importantly, she was calm, relaxed and happy! 🐱✨ I am so impressed with the result and my cat is clearly feeling much more comfortable. I’m a very happy owner! The groomer is incredibly professional, gentle and knowledgeable. The salon is spotless, clean and welcoming, which made me feel completely confident leaving my cat there. Thank you so much for taking such great care of my girl and making her first grooming experience such a positive one. We will definitely be coming back! Highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

ISOBEL Wood20 May 2026Emma was fantastic with my British semi longed hair British diva cat who had never been professionally groomed before.From the moment I contacted Emma with some questions through to her leaving after the amazing groom she gave my cat she was professional and kind and you can tell she truly has a way with cats. The amount of time and care she took with the groom and ensuring my Millie wasnt distressed in anyway throughout made it so much better for me as well. I’m so happy with all the excess fur and under fur that was removed Millie will be so much cooler and happier now and it will be easier for her and me to keep up with between appointments. Her paw pads are perfect now and she feels as if she’s had a ‘paw-dicure’ 🤣 I would absolutely highly recommend Emma to anyone looking for grooming services for their cat.
Will Paget17 May 2026We recently took our cat Tom to Emma the Cat Groomer for a taster grooming session and honestly couldn’t recommend her enough. Tom is a very nervous cat normally, so we were worried about how he’d react, but Emma was amazing with him from start to finish. She was incredibly calm, patient and clearly very experienced with cats, and Tom actually seemed relaxed and comfortable with her which is rare for him. His coat looked so much healthier and tidier afterwards, and Emma kindly sent us photos and videos after the session which was a lovely touch and really reassuring to see. You can tell she genuinely cares about the animals she works with and takes real pride in what she does. We were so happy with the experience that we’ve already booked Tom in again and can’t wait to bring him back for his next sessions. Would highly recommend Emma to anyone with cats, especially nervous ones.

She got them all out with ease in a lovely clean, relaxing environment, and he’s now so much more comfortable. He smells so fresh and his coat is silky smooth. I’ll 100% be taking him back!

I was very happy with the results because my cat has never been to groomers before and when I came back to pick her up, she seemed to be relaxed.

It was very useful she could come to me and Watson could be seen at home 🏡 Watson is a long haired white explorer who hates being groomed and I was keen to find a cat groomer that could help my high maintenance boy look tidier! Sandra17 April 2026After months of trying to sort clumps of fur on our elderly arthritic cat ourselves, Emma transformed the coat within 25 mins with a blend of gentle combing to tease out where possible, and a narrow quiet shaver where it wasn't. Even after 25 mins cat showed no signs of stress. Great service: aware of need to tailor to what an individual cat will tolerate; a number of options including your home for where cat is seen; and very fair pricing. Highly recommended.

Rufus was put at ease with lots of cuddles and biscuits. Rufus’ coat was super soft and shiny and all trimmed nicely going into the spring! Looking forward to his next groom! 🐾

Bluey is a very nervous timid boy and when it comes to grooming he is very independent and doesn’t want anyone else doing it! I was definitely worried he wouldn’t be compliant when bringing him here, but after speaking with Emma, he was an absolute angel boy and loved every minute of his groom! He looks absolutely incredible and smells incredible too! He definitely feels pampered that’s for sure! Emma has done an absolute incredible job and I couldn’t recommend her enough, especially if you have nervous cats. She has the magic touch!!

She’s a qualified veterinary nurse as well as a cat groomer, and she calmly and confidently guided my cats through their grooms and claw clipping. Emma was friendly, efficient, and made the whole experience stress-free for both my cats and me. Her prices were very reasonable, and I highly recommend Emma and Whiskers Retreat.

Emma came to our home: as 1 of our boys is very nervous and was very stressed after his brother had been the the groomers previously. No stress with Emma's visit - he was too busy trying to break into the box of treats. Will be asking Emma back when tummy panels need attention.

Zoe Morris7 January 2026My tabby cat Bruno had his very first grooming appointment with Emma a couple of weeks ago, and from the very first moment both Bruno and I felt completely relaxed. Emma has such a calm, gentle presence and it’s immediately clear that she truly understands cats. She is incredibly knowledgeable and professional, and you can tell she genuinely loves what she does. Emma took the time to explain everything, treated Bruno with so much patience and care, and made the whole experience stress-free for him. Bruno had the best experience — he came home happy, calm, and looking (and smelling!) amazing. I’ve honestly never known him to smell so good. Emma really is the best in the business — skilled, kind, and with a heart of gold. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my cat and would highly recommend her to any cat owner looking for a groomer who truly goes above and beyond.Xx

Max Brown1 December 2025I found Emma via the vets as Cat groomers (good ones are hard to find) My usual groomer is now a 70 mile round trip so finding Emma was amazing luck. (she is 2 miles door to door) . My boor was relaxed and chilled on the drive home which is a massive bonus. Emma has done a fantastic job and is patient with the animals entrusted to her. She is a credit to take this on and has done a wonderful job wit Hugo. Already looking to book the next Groom
Ruth Alli24 November 2025Emma popped over to give our medium haired boy a a de-shedding and trouser tidy-up 🐈⬛️ he was most intrigued by the bag of tricks Emma brought and really enjoyed the silicone brush used - at times as though he was having a massage at a spa. By the end of his appointment he was almost dozing off and did infact fall asleep in my daughter's arms snuggled like a baby soon after - he never does this unless feeling poorly. Next appointment already booked, cannot recommend enough 😃

There is no pressure on the cats and everything is done to the cats needs and they arnt pressured. I received updates and pictures of how they where doing and tips for items that would be better for their fur type.
Pierre K30 October 2025We have a Persian kitten who gets matted fur and has hygiene problems due to her long fur. We took her to Emma for the first time and were really happy with the results. Our kitten had had all her matts removed, had soft, glossy fur, had been trimmed in the necessary areas and smelt amazing. We would definitely recommend Emma and will bring our kitten back to her again in the future!
